White Christmas is the classic story of love.
A horror film called Black Christmas is released soon.
I remember writing once about someone being raised to believe that all we consider good was actually evil and vice versa.
Are we ever going to have to sort out that same situation with regards the terms black and white?

I think that this has less to do with rascism and more to do with Light and Dark. We generally feel less safe in the dark. I feel that the whole issue between white and black goes back to a time before rascism and that we can create rascist issues where there weren't any in the first place.
I agree with unique forms on this. It's to do with primal fear of the darkness, and nothing to do with skin colour. When someone says, PitchBlack a horror movie, you don't immediately think of a bunch of very dark men running around! You think of being in the dark. Think what a revelation fire must have beem, life saving, life enduring! Of course light is good, darkness evil.
I hear what you are saying but it must nevertheless be an issue for people raised to have pride in being black, but then discovering that the negative conotations of that word are everywhere in everyday speech.
Not sure about your light/dark argument - Native Americans thought/think black was good because it was the colour of the soul, which gives life...
