4 women in Plymouth forced 2 toddlers to fight each other to fight each other while they filmed it.
The film shows a sobbing 2-year old boy in a nappy being punched in the face by his 3-year old sister, while the women cajole him to fight back by saying "don't be a wimp" and calling him "a faggot".
One woman said: "I could not see any harm in toughening them up. I've done the same with my own children."
Question is: what would you do if you were the judge?
Forced sterilisation?
Nothing? It's a question of their own personal responsibility.

Man, let's just hope it backfires and in thirty years we'll see 4 old women from Plymouth being forced by their violent but 'toughened up' offspring into a caged deathmatch against each other - false teeth, nappies and all.

Do they have any case at all? The Spartans would've agreed with them and they were some tough fuckers.
As far as these mothers are concerned, they only survived in the world they live in (Plymouth does have its ghettos) by being hard - they are doing their duty by their kids by 'toughening them up'.
And they could do without the namby-pamby, wish-washy middle-class liberal government/society telling them they cant. They are their kids and therfore THEIR responsibility.
To accept your argument you would have to accept the premise that it is not the job of parents to raise decent and civilised people and that violence towards others is acceptable behaviour.
Following your logic - in areas where there are few good job opportunities, instead of teaching children about the benefits of education, parents should instead give them lessons in selling crack or stealing cars.
Repsonsibility does not extend to deliverate cruelty. If you truly believe that children need to learn how to defend themselves the responsible approach would be lessons in martial arts.
Give it a few weeks and social services take the children into care; the children are hopefully put with foster parents who will give them a much better start in life; then we could quite easily wipe these appalling "parents" from the face of the earth.
OK, maybe wishful thinking .....
The foster parents will probably introduce them to even more competition! good idea to get rid of the parents though, it's called economies of scale.
Welfare = systematic complacent robbery.

The kids are at least being kept active, entertained, and encouraged to make their own way in the world.
